At least 11 people were killed and 30 others injured after a blast in Dera Ismail Khan in northwestern Pakistan on Saturday, emergency service Rescue 1122 said, according to Reuters.
The explosion took place in Dera Ismail Khan, where emergency teams rushed to the scene and began responding to the incident.
The attack on the security checkpoint, which is jointly operated by police, military and customs personnel, took place "around noon", Dera Ismail Khan police official Saifullah Khan was quoted as saying by AFP.
"A suspected suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the checkpoint, killing 11 people," he said.
Bilal Faizi of the 1122 rescue service said rescuers had recovered 11 bodies following "the militant attack". He added that 18 others were wounded in the incident, AFP reported.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Recent attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Earlier this month, at least 31 people, including 16 police personnel, were killed in an explosion and gun attack at a police headquarters in Kohat, a town of around 220,000 people in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Pakistan has blamed the rise in attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the southern border province of Balochistan on militancy emanating from Afghanistan. The Taliban government in Afghanistan has denied Afghan involvement.
The accusations have triggered a bitter rift and armed conflict between the neighbouring countries. Pakistan has also carried out deadly airstrikes on Afghan soil, saying they targeted militants.
