Woman jailed for trying to share 'all you can eat meal' with entire table

Applebee's

“All you can eat” meals are quite popular because you get more for less. However, one such meal landed a woman in the US in jail after she tried to share it with her entire table. Shawneesha Cobbs went to Applebee's with two other adults and several young kids and ordered the all-you-can-eat meal. A massive hue and cry ensued once the bill came.

According to the New York Post, Cobbs went out for boneless buffalo wings in Portage, Indiana on August 2. Her group ordered one “all you can eat” special and shared it among themselves, as per the report.

The meal which costs $15.99, had gone on the menu just a few days ago on July 29. It includes endless boneless wings, riblets, double-crunch shrimp, and fries. Cobbs and her party gorged on endless food. However, when the bill came, the manager came up to their table and said that each of them would be charged for one meal.

Cobbs and her group started screaming about it and the police had to be called in. Dispatchers warned the cops that the scene had “multiple females screaming” and “threatening people.”

According to the police report, Cobbs and her group weren't happy with the bill and fought with the staff saying that they would only pay $16 for the entire food. They also argued that nowhere does it say that the meal cannot be shared. However, things fell apart for Cobbs after the police saw “per person” written in bold letters right under the “all you can eat” heading.

While the rest of the group seemed to calm down after the police intervened, Cobbs got angrier and started attacking another couple at the outlet. Her friend asked her to stop, but despite repeated attempts by the police as well as her friend, Cobbs raged on. She was eventually arrested and taken to Porter County Jail.

Causing uproar at the restaurant not only cost Cobbs her freedom, but she now also faces a hefty monetary punishment. Not only did the group pay the entire bill, Cobbs also faceda maximum sentence of 180 days behind bars and a $1,000 fine.
