CBI examined Kejriwal in the prison on Monday and recorded his statement related to the Excise Policy case. The probe agency also got permission for Kejriwal's production before the concerned trial court on Wednesday.

In a video posted on social media, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, "At a time when there is a cent per cent possibility that Arvind Kejriwal will get bail from the Supreme Court, sources have informed me that the Centre is conspiring to register a fake CBI case against the Delhi CM and get him arrested by the CBI. The entire nation can see this and is standing in solidarity with Arvind Kejriwal."

The report came on the same day when the Delhi HC stayed the decision to grant regular bail to Kejriwal, allowed by a trial court.

Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain said that documents and arguments were not appreciated properly by the trial court. The bench also said that the trial court "has not applied its mind and has not considered the material."

The bench observed that mandatory conditions under the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) have not been properly discussed in the trial court order on the CM's bail.

The Aam Admi Party (AAP) supremo was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a case pertaining to alleged corruption and money laundering in formulating and executing the Delhi government's excise policy.

He was released on bail for a brief period during the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections and addressed several public gatherings while campaigning for AAP before going back to prison a couple of days before the counting of votes on June 4.

The Delhi government had implemented the policy on November 17, 2021. But it was scrapped at the end of September 2022. Corruption allegations have been levelled against the party, which AAP denies.
