Ahead of the world television premiere of Sonakshi Sinha and Saquib Saleem’s film, Kakuda, on Zee Cinema, the two actors got excited talking about their special film finally getting to more people.
Calling it “unlike anything’ she’s done before, the talented actress told WION that she is extremely excited for the film to release on TV. The film was received really well on OTT as it released on ZEE5. The film is set for its world TV premiere on Zee Cinema on October 5.
Sonakshi Sinha told WION, “Kakuda is unlike anything I’ve done before. I remember Aditya saying, let me show you what I’ve put together and how it’s looking and when I saw it, I was blown away! What’s better than one Sona? Two! It was such a delightful surprise. The whole experience was incredibly fun and refreshing for me, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. I can’t wait for everyone to experience this thrilling ride!”
Sonakshi’s co-star in the film, Saqib Saleem told WION, "I had never ventured into horror comedy before, and getting to portray a lovable simpleton from the village of Ratori was an absolute blast! It felt refreshing to step away from my usual roles as the charming boy next door or the fitness fanatic.”
He added, “This film offered me a chance to embrace a completely different character and explore uncharted territory. It’s the perfect genre for my transition, and I couldn’t be more excited!"

Kakuda is a horror comedy starringRiteish Deshmukh, Sonakshi Sinha and Saqib Saleem in leading roles. The film is helmed by Aditya Sarpotdar. It released on ZEE5 on July 12, 2024. The film is set in a small village called Rathori which is cursed by Kakuda, a dwarf ghost. How a young couple, with the help of a ghost hunter, convince the ghost to leave the village and its people, is what follows in a dramatic and funny tale of trial and error.
