US President Joe Biden officially files to run for president re-election

US President Joe Biden has reportedly filed forre-electionwith the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Tuesday, according to data available on the Commission's website.
The entry on website reveals that Biden started the filing process with FEC on Friday (August 26). This is perhaps the strongest indication that the democrat leader has given in recent times of running for a second, consecutive term.
Biden's filing for re-election comes in the backdrop of several democrat leaders vocing concerns about the President's low approval ratings.
As reported extensively by WION, in July, Biden's approval ratings fared lower than what his infamous predecessor, Donald Trump, ever managed to achieve during his four tumultuous years in the office.

According to CNN,Biden's approval rating stood at 38 per cent while 62 per cent disapproved of his presidentship. On the economic front, Biden has an approval rating of only 30 per cent.
Moreover,the President's approval rating for the handling of the economy dwindled from 71 per cent, earlier this year to 62 per cent amongst the Democrats in the recent survey.
However, since then, Biden has brought the highly ambitious Inflation reduction Act as well as a student loan forgiveness scheme. He has also flexed muscles on the foreign front by announcing the assassination ofal-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri.

Moreover, by filing for re-election, Biden may be attempting to send a message to voters ahead of the crucial November midterm elections.
