Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been named as the leader with the highest approval rating globally by a survey following the successful conclusion of the G20 Summit.

The survey conducted by Morning Consult, which puts out weekly approval ratings of world leaders, said that 76 per cent of people approve of PM Modi’s leadership, while 18 per cent disapprove and six per cent did not give any opinion.&nbsp;

Switzerland President Alain Berset has the second highest rating with 64 per cent people approving his leadership and 26 per cent disapproving.

Third place is grabbed by Mexico President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador with an approval rating of 61 per cent.

PM Modi has constantly topped the survey, with his approval rating largely wavering in the 70s.

United States President Joe Biden held a 40 per cent approval, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was on 37 per cent, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's ratings stood at 27 per cent, and French President Emmanuel Macron stood at a rating of 24 per cent.

“India’s G20 Presidency has been the most ambitious in the history of G-20. With 112 outcomes and presidency documents, we have more than doubled the substantive work from previous presidencies," the Indian PM added.&nbsp;

At the conclusion of the summit, PM Modi handed over the&nbsp;G20 presidential gavel to the Brazilian president and expressed “unwavering faith” in the country for leading the Group of Twenty (G20) presidency with dedication and vision. He also assured “all possible cooperation” to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

“India passes the gavel to Brazil. We have unwavering faith that they will lead with dedication, and vision and will further global unity as well as prosperity. India assures all possible cooperation to Brazil during their upcoming G20 Presidency. @LulaOficial,” wrote PM Modi on X.

The poll, done over the course of two days and published on Tuesday, found that only 40 per cent of the Americans have given thumbs up to Biden’s performance. Last week, the approval rate hovered at 41 per cent.

The poll was conducted online across the United States, where 1,003 persons, including 448 Democrats and 383 Republicans, were surveyed.

The low ratings will most likely deal a major blow to Democrats ahead of the midterm elections, and also to Biden who has reportedly himself expressed interest in running for a second term.

According to NBC News, Biden told the Reverend Al Sharpton—Democratic supporter and talk show host—that he is planning to run again for the 2024 presidency during a private conversation at the White House last month.

Later that day, Sharpton informed his not-for-profit National Action Network (NAN) staff in Washington about Biden’s intention.

One of the staff of NAN later revealed this information to the media.

The poll shows that 55 per cent of voters disapprove of PM Truss while only 18 per cent&nbsp;approve of her, which is lower than Boris Johnson when his premiership came to an end.

Her net approval rating fell from -9 to -37 within a week, as a result of the fallout of her government’s&nbsp;mini-budget, and Labour gaining popularity with voters across a range of issues.

Moreover,&nbsp;the President's approval rating for the handling of the economy dwindled from 71 per cent, earlier this year to 62 per cent amongst the Democrats in the recent survey.&nbsp;

US President Joe Biden officially files to run for president re-election

US President Joe Biden’s approval ratings appear to have improved in response to his actions against the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

According to several surveys done post the invasion of Ukraine, Biden’s approval rating rose by 5 points or more standing at about 42 per cent in an average of all the pollsters.

Politico/Morning Consult’s survey put Bident's overall approval rating at 45 per cent, while the Marist College/NPR/PBS NewsHour poll said that the president’s rating improved to 42 per cent.

Notably, these pollsters had Biden's approval rating at 40 per cent in their polls taken before the invasion.

According to the Marist College/NPR/PBS NewsHour poll, the majority of Americans (52 per cent) approve of how Biden is handling the situation in Ukraine, up from 34 per cent last week, while 44 per cent disapprove, down from 50 per cent last time.

Around 46 per cent of Americans say Biden’s approach to the conflict in Ukraine is on the mark, while 43 per cent say he is being too cautious, and only 6 per cent think he is being too aggressive.

The survey pointed out that Biden’s rise in approval ratings is predominantly among his Democratic base, while noting a moderate gain&nbsp;among independents also.

The poll says Biden’s decision to levy sanctions against Russia has enjoyed a rare, bipartisan consensus.

“Most Americans, regardless of party, support these sanctions, and nearly seven in ten favour them even if it means higher energy prices domestically,” the survey said.

However, there is a sense of apprehension among the US citizens, who are fearful of ramifications from the Russian war, and how it could affect them.

Around 78 per cent of Americans are concerned that Russia will wage cyberattacks in the United States and that a broader war will erupt in Europe.

And around 70 per cent are worried that nuclear weapons will be used.

Additionally, most&nbsp;polling&nbsp;has indicated that Americans&nbsp;are worried&nbsp;far more about inflation and the economy than this war.

Biden’s approval ratings see a jump after Russian invasion of Ukraine

For the second time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi topped the ‘Global Leader Approval’ ratings released by American research firm - Morning Consult, with the highest 70 per cent approval ratings.&nbsp;

According to the data published by the American firm, PM Modi was ranked as the most approved world leader, followed by Mexico President López Obrador at 66% and Italy Prime Minister Mario Draghi at 58%.

"71 per cent of Americans said that the US role in Afghanistan was a "failure" including majorities of Democrats (66 per cent), Republicans (73 per cent), and independents (75 per cent)," the poll said.

A majority of Americans said that Afghanistan "must determine its future without US involvement" while some believe it's the US duty to stay involved.

"When Americans were asked how the US should have proceeded in Afghanistan, opinions are split. Nearly even percentages say all troops should have been withdrawn (37 per cent) or some should have been withdrawn and some left behind (38 per cent). Smaller proportions say no troops should have been withdrawn (10 per cent) or more troops should have been sent (5 per cent)," the poll added.

The situation in Afghanistan has been deteriorating after the Taliban seized control of the war-ravaged country. On August 15, the Afghan government fell soon after President Ashraf Ghani left the country.

Placing Presidential responsibility for the US shortcomings in Afghanistan is largely partisan, the poll highlighted that overall, Americans rank George W. Bush (36 per cent), Joe Biden (21 per cent), Barack Obama (15 per cent), and Donald Trump (12 per cent) as being most responsible. Democrats, however, list Republicans Bush (53 per cent) and Trump (22 per cent) as their top two. Republicans list Democrats Biden (38 per cent) and Obama (34 per cent) as their top two.&nbsp;
