"My Fellow American": Trump sends a letter to millions of Americans

Millions of Americans received a stimulus check from the federal government recently. With that, they also received a one-page letter from President Donald Trump.
“Your Economic Impact Payment Has Arrived,” says the letter’s boldface heading. The letter starts with "My Fellow American".
“Our great country is experiencing an unprecedented public health and economic challenge as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic,” the letter says. “Our top priority is your health and safety. As we wage total war on this invisible enemy, we are also working around the clock to protect hardworking Americans like you from the consequences of the economic shutdown. We are fully committed to ensuring that you and your family have the support you need to get through this time.”
The letter was signed as "Donald J. Trump" at the bottom of the page in bold, one-inch-high characters. The letter was printed on the white House stationery.
The stimulus payments are a part of a recover package worth$2.2 trillion that was been approved by Congress and signed into law by Donald Trump on March 27.

According to the economic recover law, a written notice has to be sent via mail to the last known address of any taxpayer who received one of these checks, within 15 days of the money being distributed. The letter should state details such aspayment method, the amount of the payment and an IRS phone number to report any failure to receive such a payment.
Nina Olson, executive director of the Center for Taxpayer Rights,told a media organization, "This will harm the IRS and its ability to appear nonpolitical and nonpartisan. If I were there, I would be strongly advocating against this.”
Trump has received a lot of criticism for this move.Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said the President“unfortunately appears to see the pandemic as just another opportunity to promote his own political interests.”
