Ratan Tata urges Mumbaikars to help him find a blood donor for a sick dog

Mr Ratan Tata shared a post on Instagram asking people to help save the life of a dog

Industrialist Ratan Tata shared a post on Instagram asking Mumbaikars to help him find a blood donor for a seven-month-old dog admitted to his animal hospital in Mumbai.

“I would really really appreciate your help. This 7 month dog at our animal hospital needs urgent blood transfusion. He is admitted for a suspected tick fever and life threatening anaemia. We urgently need a dog blood donor in Mumbai,” Mr Tata wrote on Instagram.

According to the post shared on Instagram, the following were the eligibility criteria for the dog blood donor:

-Clinically healthy

-Between 1 to 8 years of age

-Weighing about 25 kg or above

-Fully vaccinated and dewormed

-Free from any recent major illness

-Free from ticks and fleas and has no history of tick fever in at least the last 6 months

Ratan Tata urged the people of Mumbai to help save the life of a dog who was in a critical condition. Within a few hours, people started to react to the post. The internet was moved to see such great compassion towards animals by the industrial giant.

A user commented, "A legend who doesn't post for anything, posts for blood for a dog not even his own. If this isn't a golden lesson in humility what is?".

"We have only one heart sir, how many times will you win it?" another user wrote in the comments.

Ratan Tata's compassion towards animals

This is not the first timeRatan Tata has shownlove and compassion for animals. A LinkedIn user, Rubi Khan, in a post, praised the Taj Hotel in Mumbai for how accommodating it was towards strays.

Rubi wrote that she saw a street dog sleeping at the hotel's entrance. Upon enquiring, the staff informed her that the dog had been a part of their hotel since it was born. They said that Ratan Tata has instructed the staff to treat all the animals that enter the hotel premises well.
