In the upcoming India-West Indies ODI series, in India, the country's cricket fans are set to see the reunion of the famous spin pair -- Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Speaking to veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on his Youtube channel, Chahal recently revealed an episode where he was thrashed left, right and centre during a India-South Africa T20I, 2018, and how Dhoni came to his rescue. He said,&nbsp;"Once, I got hit for 64 runs in a T20I against South Africa in 2018; (Heinrich) Klaasen had smashed me all over the park. Then Mahi (Dhoni) bhai had asked me to come around the wicket. I did exactly that but he hit me for a six over the biggest boundary at mid-wicket."

"Then Mahi bhai came to me and I said, ‘Yes Mahi bhai, ab kya karna hai? (What should I do now?). He said ‘Kuch nahi, mai to waisehi aagaya tere paas&nbsp;(Nothing, I just came to check upon you). I know it’s not your day, you are trying but it isn’t happening.&nbsp;Zyada sochna nahi, apne chaar ka quota khatam kar aur chill kar&nbsp;(Don’t think too much, just finish your four overs and chill."

Chahal bowled his most expensive spell in the shortest format, 4-0-64-0 during the second and penultimate T20I between both sides in South Africa in early 2018. The 30-year-old further asserted that had someone scolded him after leaking runs at will, it would have affected him severely but Dhoni chose to lift his spirits. "If someone scolds you at that time, your confidence goes down even further. But he told me that it's just one match as you did so well in ODIs. I also realized that in cricket sometimes you do well and sometimes you don't," he added.

Prior to the series, former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel has issued warning to key bowler Yuzi Chahal to be among wickets after the flop show in SA. "You expect Chahal to take wickets in the middle overs but he wasn't as successful. As a captain, I would expect this from Chahal because he's playing for so many years. These are wickets where there is spin and bounce (talking about the ODI series in South Africa),” Parthiv said on&nbsp;Cricbuzz.

“Chahal will be under pressure. Chopra further went on to add that it can be a toss-up between Siraj and Harshal when it comes to RCB's pace-bowling retention. While Siraj has developed into a consistent performer for RCB over the last couple of seasons, Harshal had a terrific IPL 2021 where he picked up 32 wickets to bag the Purple Cap and has also made it to the Indian T20I side.

While leg-spinner played a key role for several teams in the T20 World Cup this year, Indian spinners failed to make an impact. Chakravarthy failed to live up to the expectations as he went wicket-less in the tournament while Ashwin and Jadeja picked 6 and 7 wickets respectively in the tournament as India failed to make it to the semis.

Jindal took to Twitter to raise questions over the 18-man T20 World Cup squad selected by the Chetan Sharma-led selection panel.

BCCI had announced the T20 World Cup squad earlier this month with a number of big names failing to make the cut. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Yuzvendra Chahal among others failed to make the cut, raising several eyebrows. Dhawan has been in stellar touch in the ongoing IPL 2021 and is currently the second-highest run-getter so far this season with 430 runs in ten matches.

Chahal, on the other hand, has returned to form after struggling in the first leg of the tournament in India earlier this year. The leg spinner picked up a three-wicket haul as Royal Challengers Bangalore decimated Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Chahal has nine wickets in 10 matches so far.&nbsp;

The selectors also kept former DC captain and star batsman Shreyas Iyer out of the main squad and included him in the reserves for the T20 World Cup. “There were no plans of having Yuzi in the game. Concussion replacements are a strange thing. Today, it worked for us. Yuzi showed character to squeeze the opponents. I thought they had a great start. They were cruising. The batters offered us a few wickets. That is T20 cricket for you,” Indian skipper Kohli said after the match.

“Their doctor had ruled Jadeja out due to concussion. You can't be challenging a medical expert's opinion,” Australian captain Finch said.

Notably, Jadeja didn’t undergo concussion test after he was hit on the helmet by Starc and was only evaluated after the end of innings. However, ICC regulations permit concussion test to be conducted at the end of the over, which happened in this case – the end of innings. There are suggestions that Jadeja probably suffered a delayed concussion.

“Should he have had a concussion test there and then?” Mark Waugh said on Fox Cricket. “He would not have been able to bat.”
