Rohit's century powers India to first ODI win against England

Rohit Sharma slammed a century to power India to it first ODI win against England at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

The right-handed opener made 137 runs to knock the hosts out and give India an eight-wicket victory.  His unbeaten 114 balls inning included 15 boundaries and four sixes.

Rohit found a perfect ally in skipper Virat Kohli, who slammed a half-century, to take 'Men In Blue' closer to victory.  

Kohli had hit seven boundaries in his 75 runs inning which came in 82 balls. He, however, lost his wicket to Adil Rashid. While chasing a target of 268 runs, India clinched the game in just 40.1 overs and eight wickets in hand. 

Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav bowled an astonishing a spell of wrist spin to grab six England wickets.

With this record, he became the first left-arm bowler to take six wickets in an ODI.

The English side was almost derailed after losing their top three players, before Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler (wk) slammed a half-century each tom save the team from drowning.

The took initially took time to settle themselves but later went on to counter the Indian attack. 

Stokes played a crucial inning to lift England but consumed 103 balls to make just 50 runs. He became the fifth wicket of Yadav. 

Buttler was the fourth wickets of Yadav as he was dismissed after establishing a crucial partnership with Stokes. 

Pacer Umesh Yadav also added to England's nightmare by taking two wickets.

 India will play their second ODI on Saturday at Lord's, London.
