Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina began her two-day visit to India on Friday (June 21). This was her first state visit to India after Narendra Modi became the prime minister for a third consecutive term. On Saturday, Hasina received a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. She later held a bilateral meeting with Modi at the Hyderabad House.
The Indian foreign ministry said that Hasina's visit would give a major boost to the India-Bangladesh ties."Deepening India-Bangladesh Maitri! PM Narendra Modi extended a warm welcome to PM Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh at Hyderabad House ahead of their bilateral discussions,"foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X.
The two leaders have met each other 10 times since 2019, making unprecedented transformations in the relationship," he added.
