Referring to the unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said today, that the government will start a sustained dialogue in the terrorist-infested state.
He said former director of Intelligence Bureau Dineshwar Sharma will be the representative of the government of India in the state.
Rajnath Singh said thatDineshwar Sharma will hold the rank equivalent to a cabinet secretary.
The home minister said thatDineshwar Sharma will initiate dialogue with elected representatives of Jammu and Kashmir, political parties, different organisations and people.

On appointment as the government of India's representative for dialogue in Jammu and Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma said to ANI that the responsibility given to him is big and he hopes to live up to the expectations of the government.
Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti welcomed the government's initiative and said thatdialogue was the only way forward.
