The Delhi High Court has asked the Election Commission of India to pass a detailed order stating reasonsfor their decision of recognising the Nitish Kumar led faction of JD(U).

The ECI has to submit by Thursday the date by which they can pass such an order.

The Delhi High Court's order has come in response to a plea filed by JD(U) MLA Chhotu Bhai Vasava.

Vasava had challenged the ECI's order on the party symbol.

The Election Commission had earlier recognisedJanta Dal United's faction led by Nitish Kumar.

The commission had also approved them to use the arrow symbol.

EC hadrejected the plea filed by Chhotubhai Amarsang Vasava to recognise his group as real JD(U). He is the working president of the JD(U) faction led by Sharad Yadav.

The plea was filed to get claim over the party and its election symbol.

The EC had released an order stating thatthe group led by Kumar "has demonstrated overwhelming majority support" in the legislature wing as well as the majority in the national council of the party.
