
Congress MLA Bharat Singh Kundanpur has penned a letter to theChief Minister Ashok Gehlot urging him to reopen the liquor stores amid the lockdown.
He is claiming that "drinking alcohol will surely remove coronavirus from the throat." Using the logic that alcoholic sanitizers help get rid of coronavirus, he implied that coronavirus can be removed from the throat if people drink alcohol.
"When coronavirus can be removed by washing hands with alcohol, then drinking alcohol will surely remove virus from the throat," Kundanpur wrote in his letter to the Chief Minister.
Liquor stores all over the country have been shut since the nationwide lockdown was initiated to stop the spread of coronavirus. Some citizens have been requesting the government to partially open the liquor shops. However, the government has stood firm on its decision and has helped the public as and how possible.
The MLA also alleged thatillegal sales of liquor and bootlegging has seen a rapid increase during the weeks of lockdown.
