The national carrier Air India will operate flights with an all-women crew to New York, Frankfurt, Singapore and various other destinations to commemorate International Women's Day on March 8.
The national carrier on Tuesday said it has planned several flights, domestic and international, operated only by its women employees.
"Air India will fly these all-women crew flights to all the USA cities it operates to -- San Francisco, New York, Newark, Chicago and Washington DC -- besides destinations like Milan, Frankfurt and Singapore.
A number of women-related events will also be organised by Air India throughout its network to mark the occasion – reiterating the airline's constant endeavour to encourage women to have an equal standing in every sphere of the airline's activities, the airline said.
The airline further said that a unique feature of Air India's all-woman crew flights is that most of the operations from Cockpit crew to Cabin crew, Check-In staff, Doctor, commercial staff, ground operators to technicians, engineers, flight dispatchers, and even safety and quality auditors are all mostly women.
As per its website, Air India group has a fleet of more than 150 aircraft.
