Moana 2 trailer: Moana and Maui embark on a new oceanic adventure together

Disney dropped the first trailer for its much-awaited sequel of Moana and it’s everything we imagined it to be. The trailer teases the return of Moana and Maui, voiced by Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson, respectively. They will be seen embarking on another oceanic adventure.
In the trailer, we hear Moana say, “This is a call from the ancestors to sail to new skies and reconnect our people across the entire ocean.”

According to its official description, Moana 2 will see “Moana and Maui (get together) three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.”
Moana 2 is written and directed by David G. Derrick Jr. Music duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, as well as Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina, who worked on the first film, will return to write songs for the sequel.

Moana was a success for Disney
The first film, Moana turned out to be quite a success for Disney Studio. First in theatres and then on OTT, Disney+, the film hit thespot with the audience with more than 1 billion hours streamed in 2023.

In other news for Moana fans, there is also a live-action remake of the original Moana in the works with Dwayne Johnson planning to return to play Maui in that project.
Moana 2 will be released in theatres on November 27 in the US. It will release in India on November 29.
