India became the T20 World Champion by beating South Africa in a thriller on Saturday (June 29). Suryakumar Yadav's brilliant catch to dismiss David Miller on the first ball of the last over with SA needing 16 runs played a pivotal role in it.
Hardik Pandya, bowling the last over, bowled a low and wide full toss outside off which Miller connected well. The ball travelled to long off region where Surya caught the ball just inside the boundary line but was disbalanced. SKY then popped the ball in the air and crossed the boundary only to comeback inside and catch it again. Have a look at the video below:

Miller was the last recognised batter of SA and the next three batters could not get the needed runs off remaining Pandya over. India eventually won the match by seven runs to lift their second T20 title - 17 years after winning the first in inaugural edition (2007).

After India's win, both Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma announced their retirementfrom the T20Is for India. The duo, however, may continue to play in ODIs and Tests.
India had set South Africa 177-run target to win the 2024 T20 World Cup. India won the toss and elected to bat first in Barbados and scored 176/7 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli top scored with 76 off 59 balls while Axar Patel, who was promoted at number five, played a handy innings of 47 off 31 balls.
As for South Africa, they were ahead most of the time and needed 30 runs in last five overs with Heinrich Klaasen and Miller on the crease. Klaasen had taken 24 runs of the 15th over of innings by Axar Patel and looked set to take SA home.
Pandya, however, dismissed Klaasen in 17th over after Bumrah delivered a sensational 16th over - giving away just four runs. The chase derailed from thereon and India came out as eventual winners, holding SA at 169/8.
