Virat Kohli not the same after fame and power, Rohit Sharma unchanged: Former Indian spinner's BIG claim

Former Indian spinner Amit Mishra made a sensational claim, in a recent interaction, while comparing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The wily spinner claimed that Kohli changed a lot after gaining fame and power in his career whereas Rohit, under whom India won the 2024 T20 World Cup, remains the same person. Both Kohli and Rohit debuted around the same time, with the former coming into the picture in 2008 and Hitman making his debut a year before. Kohli rose to fame much earlier and got captaincy in early 2015 when MS Dhoni retired from Tests. He became the all-format skipper in 2017 before Rohit took over the reins in early 2022 (as full-time captain).
'Why does Virat have less friends? His and Rohit's natures are different'
Mishra, a veteran of 22 Tests, 36 ODIs and 10 T20Is, played with both Kohli and Rohit and also under the former's captaincy. While speaking to YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra on his show, the ex-cricketer drew comparisons between Kohli and Rohit's nature. He revealed, "I won't lie. As a cricketer, I respect him (Kohli) a lot, but I don't share the same equation with him as I used to. Why does Virat have less friends? His and Rohit's natures are different. I'll tell you the best thing about Rohit. When I met him the first day and when I meet him today, he is the same person. So will you relate to him more or with someone who changes according to situation?"
Mishra added, "I have seen Virat change a lot. We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those. I have known Cheeku since the time he was 14, when he used to eat Samosas, when he needed Pizza every night. But there is a huge difference in the Cheeku I knew and Virat Kohli, the captain. Whenever he meets me, he is very respectful, but it's obviously not the same anymore."
Recently, both Kohli and Rohit retired from T20Is after India's T20 WC triumph, in West Indies and the USA. Currently, both are expected to be out of cricketing action and will miss the forthcoming India tour of Sri Lanka, where Gautam Gambhir will take over as the head coach. The duo will return before India's home season commences later this year.
