
After 840 American sailors tested positive for coronavirus aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, another aircraft carrier has been trapped in the COVID-19epidemic.

US Navy said one sailor has been infected aboard USS Kidd with another 17 being infected with COVID-19.
"Testing continues, and we expect additional cases among the crew,"it said. There are reportedly around 300 sailors aboard the ship.
The aircraft carrier was carrying out its mission in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, according to reports.
Theodore Roosevelt was in the Asia Pacific earlier this month when coronavirus was detected in the ship. One sailor was killed due to the virus. According to reports, the vessel wasstationed in Guam.
Reports had speculated that the sailors had got infected during a port stop at Vietnam. In the case of USS Kidd, it is still not clear how the sailors were infected with the virus, although testing is being carried out.
Acting navy secretary Thomas Modly in the US had resigned after reportedly mishandling the coronavirus outbreak in USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier.
Ealier, French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle deployed in the Atlantic was earlier stuck with coronavirus with half of its sailors down with the deadly virus.
French defence minister Florence Parly had said out of the 2,010 COVID-19 tests, 1,081 had tested positive for the virus with all those who tested negative put in quarantine.
