Khyree Jackson, Minnesota Vikings' 2024 NFL Draft pick, dies in car crash

Minnesota Vikings' 2024 NFL Draft prick Khyree Jackson has been killed in a car crash at the age of 24. His two high-school teammates Isaiah Hazel and Anthony "AJ" Lytton also died in the fatal accident in Prince George County, Maryland.
The news was confirmed by the Maryland Police in a statement released on Saturday (Jul 6).
According the police news release, Hazel, who played college football for Maryland and UNC Charlotte, was driving a maroon Dodge Charger with Jackson in front seat and Lytton in backseat.
Two more cars, a silver Infinity Q50 and a silver Chevrolet Impala were also involved in the crash which took place on Saturday morning, read the police release.
According to police investigators, the accident happened when the driver of Infinity Q50 tried to change lanes at high speed and hit the Dodge. The maroon car then went off road on the right side and hit multiple tree stumps before coming to rest. The Infinity then hit Impala.

All three people, including the driver, in Infinity were unharmed and so was the driver of Impala - the lone occupant in the car.
Reacting to the deaths, Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Prince George's County, where all three deceased were teammates, posted a tribute on the social media platform X.
"The Dr. Henry A. Wise Athletic Department sends condolences to the families and mourns the loss of Khyree Jackson (State Champ 2016 c/o '17) Anthony Lytton, Jr. (AJ) (State Champ 2015,16,17 c/o '18) and Isaiah Hazel (State Champ 2015, 16, 17 c/o '19)," the school's statement.
Den Lanning, Jackson's coach at Oregon, also mourned the death of cornerback and wrote: "RIP Khyree… Love you @Real_Khyree at a loss for words. I will miss your smile. Great player better person."
Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell also reacted to the tragic news and said in a team statement: "I am absolutely crushed by this news. Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team. His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him."
