Following the recent attacks on foreign tourists in Sri Lanka, the police have announced to increase security at tourists spots
Following the recent attacks on foreign tourists in Sri Lanka, the police have announced to increase security at tourist spots.
On Friday it announced to establish new police posts and continuous police patrolling.
According to reports, 20 new police station would be established to provide better security for tourists.
Security measures are being taken in Sri Lanka after a Dutch tourist was sexually assaulted last week.
Several other tourists were assaulted by the unidentified local gang at a hotel in the southern resort town of Mirissa.
This week also there were reports of Israeli tourists being beaten up in the same area.
The police have begun its investigation and 14 men have also been arrested.

According to media reports, there are many other incidents of foreign tourists being sexually harassed by miscreants but the matter usually goes unreported.
The country's tourism minister John Amaratunga has also urged such tourists to make a formal complaint. He also promised to provide compensation for those who can return and help in the investigation.
