In a horrifying incident, two army trainees were brutally attacked along with their women friends in the Indore district of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday (Sep 10). The incident took place near Jam Gate in the city when an armed group of people attacked the army officers with the intention of looting. The attackers assaulted the group and later gang-raped one of the women.
The MP police have arrested two of the accused so far; one of who was found to have a past criminal record.
The officers were trainees at Mhow Army College and had gone out with the women near the firing range at Chhoti Jam in the afternoon.
The officers and their group of friends were suddenly surrounded by eight men flaunting pistols, knives and sticks. The men beat up the trainee officers and the women before robbing them of their money and other belongings.

The attackers then took one officer and a woman hostage, sending the other officer and a woman to fetch a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. Panicked and worried for their friend’s lives, the other officer hurried back to his unit and informed his commanding officer about the incident, who swiftly alerted the police.
Officers from Dial-100, along with other military personnel rushed to the scene, but till then attackers fled upon seeing the approaching vehicles.

The incident happened under Badgonda police station limits. Station in-charge Lokendra Singh Hirore said the officers, aged 23 and 24, are undergoing a Young Officers (YO) course at the Infantry School in Mhow cantonment town.
All four victims were taken to the Mhow Civil Hospital for medical examination around 6:30 am and doctors said both officers had been injured.

Further medical examination also showed that one of the women was raped, as reported by news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), quoting Lokendra Singh Hirore, in charge of the Badgonda police station.
"A case under (BNS) sections pertaining to loot, dacoity, rape and under the Arms Act has been registered," said Indore Rural SP Hitika Vasal, PTI reported. A manhunt has started for the other criminals involved, the officer said.
