Kolkata doctor rape-murder case: The polygraph test of the main accused in the caseSanjoy Roy, former principal of RG Kar hospital Sandip Ghosh, four doctors, and one civic volunteer started on Saturday (Aug 24).
An expert team from Delhi arrived in Kolkata to conduct the test. The rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical College in the capital city of West Bengal has triggered massive outrage and protests across India.
The victim was found in the seminar hall of the college on August 9.
Main accused sent to 14 days of judicial custody
Sanjoy Roy, the main accused in this case, was on Friday sent to 14 days of judicial custody. He would remain in custody until September 6, under the supervision of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The custody was awarded by the Sealdah Court.

The court's order came days after the Supreme Court ordered the security of the medical college to be handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). A report by the news agency ANI said that this decision came amid the raging protests in West Bengal.
ANI reported that the deployment of CISF personnel is expected to strengthen security measures and help maintain public order.
CCTV shows main accused near crime scene at medical college
Investigators in the case released the CCTV footage of Sanjay Roy entering the hospital on the night of August 9, hours before he committed the gruesome crime. The footage showed Roy entering with a Bluetooth earphone wrapped around his neck.
This same Bluetooth earphone wasfound near the crime scene.
