A Delhi court on Friday extended by three days the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody of Karti Chidambaram, son of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, in the INX Media corruption case.

Karti's custody has now been extended till March 12.

The Patiala House Court allowed the CBI application seeking permission to confront Karti Chidambaram with his chartered accountant Bhaskaraman in Tihar jail.

The court will now hear Karti's bail plea on March 15 in the CBI's case against him.

The same day, the Delhi High Court granted interim relief to Karti until March 20 in the event of an arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) ) in the INX Media money laundering case.

The court granted the relief till next date of hearing which is March 20.

The CBI has alleged that Karti Chidambaram got kickbacks in return for foreign investment clearance for INX Media when his father was the Finance Minister.

Bhaskararaman was arrested from a five-star hotel in the heart of the national capital on February 16.

The ED alleges that Bhaskararaman, a qualified CA, had been assisting Karti in managing his "ill-gotten wealth" in India and abroad.
