A terrorist attack took place at a police party at KP road in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag on Wednesday.
Five CRPF were killed as terrorists and security forces exchanged heavy firing.
As many as three CRPF personnel have been injured. Station House Officer of Anantnag Police Station, Arshad Ahmed, was injured in the attack and has been shifted to Srinagar for treatment. One terrorist has been killed.
CRPF in a statement said that motorcycle-borne terrorists fired upon troops of B/116 battalion and Jammu and Kashmir police who were deployed for law and order duty.

Sources in the police say that terrorists opened indiscriminate fire at the forces in which a girl also sustained injuries. The area has been cordoned off as forces have trapped one terrorist near the spot.
Meanwhile, the body of a terrorist was recovered by security forces on Wednesday morning after an encounter took place on Tuesday in Bomai area of Sopore in Baramulla district, news agency ANI reported.
The encounter broke out at 5:25 pm yesterday between terrorists and the troops of 177, 179 and 92 Battalion of CRPF, SOG Sopore, 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR).
Though the body of the terrorist was retrieved from the site of the encounter his identity and affiliation is being ascertained, Jammu and Kashmir Police said.
"On a credible input, a cordon and search operation was launched jointly by police and security forces at the area. During the search operation, the hiding terrorist fired on the search party. The fire was retaliated leading to an encounter," police explained in a press release.
