DMK may support Pattali Makkal Katchi-led shutdown that will take place on April 12. DMK leader MK Stalin on Sunday confirmed the same.

The shutdown will be held in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the state for the DefExpo 2018.

Party leaders will also stage black flag protests during PM 's visit and shall wear black shirts protesting over the Cauvery issue.

The shutdown has been initiated demanding the formation of the Cauvery Management Board (CMB) and Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee (CWRC).

A DMK-led shutdown, observed on April 5, disrupted normal life in the state.

Tamil Nadu's share of Cauvery water was reduced from 177.25 thousand million cubic feet (TMC) after Supreme Court's directive that came on February 16. Karnataka's share of water was increased by 14.75 TMC.

The central government was asked to set up the Cauvery Management Board within six weeks of the Supreme Court's order the government failed to do the same within the deadline that ended on March 29.
