Varun, a 28-year-old student from Karnataka, allegedly committed suicide in Delhi after he was denied entry to sit for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) or civil services exam.

The UPSC aspirant was not allowed to sit for the exam after he reached late to the examination centre at Paharganj in north Delhi.

The 28-year-old committed suicide by hanging himself inside his rented accommodation at Rajendra Nagar in Delhi.

The police have recovered a suicide note where Varun reportedly apologised to his family and requested them to forget him.

His suicide note read, "The rules are fine but there should be some leniency".

The preliminary exams for the  UPSC were conducted on Sunday.

The police claim that Varun was upset after he was denied entry into the examination hall.
