A day after Cyclone Ockhi passed over Goa, shack owners are reportedly upset that no warnings were given to their industry, unlikefishermen who were told to avoid the rough seas.
The cyclone destroyed many shacks. Many were pulled down by the owners themselves, media reports said, adding that thedistrict collectors of both North and South Goa have asked the state government to declare Cyclone Ockhi as a state disaster.

The media report quoted the north Goa district administration as saying that the damage was the most at the Permen sub-district on the Maharashtra border where at least 30 shacks were damaged.
The shack owners’ welfare society claims 80 per cent of the 360 shacks have been damaged, the media report said.
Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar met Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar who was looking into the matter, the media report quoted a tourism official as saying.
