Facebook has started an Aadhaar based feature on its platform, wherein it is asking new users in India to use the same name as displayed on their Aadhaar card while signing up for a new account. × The move is aimed to curb the number of fake accounts on the social media platform that has over 241 million users in the country, making India the second largest market for Facebook after the US. However, it is not mandatory for the users to put the same name that appears on Aadhaar card. Facebook further clarified that this is not a new medium of user verification. This new test won't be visible for all users as Facebook is testing it for a limited audience only.
