<p>The sequel picks up with Olive after she has completed her PhD. While she has her research, friends and Adam by her side, her professional life brings a new set of challenges. <h2>The Love Hypothesis review</h2><p>As per <i>WION's</i> Snigdha Sweta Behera, "<i>The Love Hypothesis</i> doesn't reinvent the romantic-comedy formula, but it doesn't need to. Cinephiles, who haven't read the novel, definitely give you an idea of their characters and how they are as individuals in detail. Overall, Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman gave this adaptation enough chemistry and heart to make it a fun watch for both rom-com fans and viewers discovering Olive and Adam for the first time."</p>

Paramount, which is run by David Ellison, whose ultra-wealthy family has ties to US President Donald Trump, won a bidding war against Netflix in February for control of a stable of assets that includes Warner Bros. Pictures, CNN and the HBO Max streaming service.

A federal judge on Wednesday approved a settlement between Paramount and a group of US states that clears the way for its takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery, creating a Hollywood empire spanning television, news and cinema. Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin of California signed the consent decree, binding the concessions that Paramount offered to end an antitrust challenge brought by 12 states. The commitments run for five years, and the court will have the power to enforce them. Paramount, which is run by David Ellison, whose ultra-wealthy family has ties to US President Donald Trump, won a bidding war against Netflix in February for control of a stable of assets that includes Warner Bros. Pictures, CNN and the HBO Max streaming service. The same day, Ellison named Mattel Chief Executive Ynon Kreiz as co-CEO of the combined company once the merger closes. Ellison will stay on as chairman and CEO, focusing on strategy, creative direction and technology, while Kreiz will handle day-to-day operations and the integration of the two businesses, the company said. "Bringing together Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery to create a next-generation global media company is a transformational moment for our industry," Ellison said in a statement. "In Ynon, I'm adding a partner with strong leadership and the operating firepower this integration demands," he added. Kreiz, who has led Mattel since 2018 and oversaw its move into film with the 2023 blockbuster "Barbie," will join Paramount on October 5 and take a seat on the board at closing. The Trump administration approved the deal, one of the largest-ever media mergers, in June without demanding a change to its business, before 12 US states sued to block the transaction. Financing for the deal reportedly includes about $24 billion in equity from the sovereign wealth funds of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. David Ellison's father, billionaire Oracle founder Larry Ellison, provided major funding and a guarantee to lenders backing the deal. Opponents in the movie industry said the combined company would slash jobs in a Hollywood already under pressure and reduce the number of films produced every year, while news media groups feared CNN's independence could be compromised. The decree includes several safeguards on these issues, including a board meant to protect CNN's editorial independence. The settlement was reached by the parties on September 21 and was awaiting the judge's approval. It came just days after Trump banned CNN, Politico and MS NOW from the White House. The outlets successfully sued the administration to have the decision reversed. Paramount had threatened to move out of California if the state's attorney general, Rob Bonta, did not end the lawsuit. The decree commits the merged studio to release 30 movies in each of the first two years of the deal, and 32 in each of the following three years.

On this, the actor quickly agreed as he recalled being held at a knife point at the age of 14 for money by two kids on the street.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“Well, yeah,” he told his Animals costar. “In fact, I remember I was walking home from high school, I was 14 maybe, and I saw these two kids in like literal hoods on the other side of the street. And, you know, it’s kind of one of those things where you’re like, ‘All right,’ ” he said.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Explaining the story in detail, the Gone Girl actor described how the event unfolded. “They pass me, grab me, take a knife out, [and say] ‘Give me your money,’” the actor said as he shared that the boys were the same ones he once played baseball with, and that's why he managed to walk safely.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“I was scared,” Affleck admitted. “But then out of the corner of my eye, I realized who they were. I recognized them from playing baseball and they were like older boys that I knew and they were like, ‘Oh yeah, what’s up?’ And so I guess I was like, I guess I’m off the hook.”&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Years later, the same kid, who held him on a knifepoint, killed someone else and went to prison. “And actually, that kid who robbed me ended up, I don’t know three or four years later, killing somebody with a knife and going to prison for 20 years,” Affleck shared.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“So there was that, you know what I mean? And you were kind of aware of it,” he added.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Affleck has been promoting his thriller Animals, and this is the fifth time the actor is directing himself. The movie revolves around the son of a Los Angeles mayoral candidate who has been kidnapped. Apart from directing duties, the actor has also co-written alongside Connor O. McIntyre and Billy Ray. First announced in 2024, the project faced a delay due to a scheduling conflict with Alleck, who was filming The Accountant 2.</p>

Dupahiya 2 review

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>Amid these struggles, Banwari gets an unexpected opportunity when his land is selected for the installation of a mobile tower. The deal promises him good money, and the tower appears to be exactly the opportunity he needs to improve his financial situation.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>But nothing goes smoothly in Dhadakpur. The villagers begin opposing the tower, while Pushplata (Renuka Shahane), who is the village chief, also gets involved in the dispute.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>At the same time, Roshni is under intense pressure to clear her SSC exam. After becoming popular through his dancing and female-avatar videos, he dreams of moving to Mumbai and making a career in acting. However, his performances become a hurdle in his pursuit of an acting career.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>His journey also becomes connected to his sister's struggles, and from there, the family gets pulled deeper into their problems.</p><h2>What works and what doesn't</h2><p>Just like Season 1, the biggest strength of Dupahiya 2 is Dhadakpur itself. The series has created a recognisable small-town universe, and the mobile tower storyline is particularly effective.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>Gajraj Rao is once again one of the biggest reasons to watch the show. The portrayal of Banwari's emotions is done without making the character overly dramatic, and his chemistry with his on-screen son is worth appreciating.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Bhugol's storyline is also interesting, as he is uncomfortable with people mocking him over his female performances, but he enjoys the money he makes through it.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/dupahiya-review-this-delightful-soul-stirring-village-drama-is-a-treat-to-watch-8830533"><strong>Dupahiya review | This delightful, soul-stirring village drama is a treat to watch</strong></a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Roshni's SSC preparation is meanwhile the central tension of the season and it works well. Additionally, Bhuvan Arora continues to make Amavas likeable.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>There are several genuinely funny moments, and the supporting characters also contribute to the humour.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>However, Season 2 is slower than the first season, which had a sense of discovery, while Dhadakpur itself felt new.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The new chapter already has the advantage of familiar characters, but the writing does not always use that familiarity effectively, and several tracks take time to develop.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>After a point, the pacing becomes noticeably slow, and there are scenes where viewers may feel like fast-forwarding.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p><p>While the sequel has most of the ingredients that worked previously, including quirky villagers, family relationships and situational humour, it does not necessarily recreate the same experience.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Also Read: </strong><a href="https://www.wionews.com/trending/gajraj-rao-s-heartwarming-new-adevrtisement-is-making-everyone-cry-here-s-why-1772005759484"><strong>Gajraj Rao's heartwarming new advertisement is making everyone cry</strong></a></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>There is also a lot happening simultaneously, with several storylines competing for attention. Renuka Shahane's Pushplata, in particular, could have benefited from more screen time and a more developed track.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The show definitely has several funny situations, but not every joke lands.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Coming to the performances, Gajraj Rao and Sparsh Shrivastava continue to stand out, while Shivani Raghuvanshi, Bhuvan Arora and Renuka Shahane also play their respective roles with sincerity.</p><p>Yashpal Sharma gets some of the season's more grounded scenes and brings a different energy.</p><p>Dinesh Lal Yadav, as Pratham Kumar, also adds a different flavour to the ensemble and makes his presence felt.</p><h2>Verdict</h2><p>Dupahiya 2 is worth watching for those who enjoyed the first season, as it retains many of the elements that made the original appealing. The characters are likeable, Dhadakpur continues to be an entertaining setting, and the series has plenty of amusing situations.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>However, Season 2 is slower, and you will feel that some of the subplots could have been tighter. The freshness is missing in Season 2, but Dhadakpur is still a pleasant place to return to.</p>

<p>If you have grooved to the music of Dhurandhar, still remember the beats of Uri: The Surgical Strike, or found yourself humming Ghafoor on loop, the credit goes to one man, Shashwat Sachdev. Fresh off his recent National Award win for Article 370, Sachdev has come a long way.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>In an exclusive interview with WION, Shashwat opens up about Dhurandhar, the film's phenomenal success and the tracks that went on to become chartbusters. He talks about how ‘’Jaiye Sajana'', sung by Satinder Sartaaj, came to life, and the story behind it is as fascinating as the song itself. He also talked about the viral phenomenon Ghafoor became. But beyond Bollywood, the composer is also very focused on developing his IP, ‘Future Machine’, which he feels will give people an experience beyond the shows and cinema.<br><br><strong>Read excerpts from his edited chat below:</strong><br><br><strong>WION: Was there a song from Dhurandhar that you were initially unsure about but later became a fan favorite?</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shashwat</strong>: Jaiye Sajana, from Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Ojas [Gautam] heard where it could belong in the film before I did. Placing it in that particular situation was his idea. He's been beside me through so much of this work, and he's a wonderful collaborator. Magic, my wife, had the idea of bringing in Satinder Sartaaj. Jasmine Sandlas had come up with the line and written it. Sartaaj saab changed a few words and sang it so beautifully that the song came together in a way I hadn't been sure it would. When I hear it now, I think about what each of them gave it. I'm very grateful they could hear possibilities in the song that helped me find my way with it.<br><br><strong>WION:&nbsp; Was there a track that you almost scrapped or overlooked that eventually became one of the album's biggest highlights.&nbsp;</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shashwat</strong>: That would also be Jaiye Sajana. This is the part that still stays with me: the version people know came down to about fifteen minutes. Everything was happening in a hurry, and Sartaaj saab found that little window to record for us. We already had Jasmine singing the line. He changed a few words and sang it, and something fell into place. Without that recording, we might have had Jasmine's version, or the song might not have made it into the film at all. To hear it receive so much love now, knowing how close that was, makes me even more grateful to him.<br><br><strong>WION:&nbsp;Ghafoor became a standout viral hit. How did that happen, and what role has social media played in your journey?</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shashwat</strong>: I remember watching Ghafoor take off around Diwali last year. I'd experienced the success of Uri and other work, but this was the first time I personally saw one of my songs become viral like that. While we were making it, I didn't know this would be the one. The initial idea came from Manav [Chauhan]. Aryan [Khan] suggested the word Ghafoor because of how it sounded. We came together and worked on it, and to me it was one of the ten songs I was making for the album. When we played it to the team, people immediately felt it was going to be big. Aryan deserves a great deal of credit for recognising that. He brought people together for the video and put so much into presenting the song with the attention he felt it deserved. Social media made that connection with people very visible to me. You make something with a small group, and then you see people making it part of their own lives. With Ghafoor, I could really see the song travelling beyond us.<br><br><strong>WION: What surprised you most about Hans Zimmer’s creative process compared to Bollywood?</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shashwat</strong>: I hadn't really noticed how much the release of a Hindi film is already in my head when I'm making its music. Working with Hans made me aware of that. Our songs often reach people before the film does. They introduce it, create excitement and begin a relationship with the audience. As a composer, I'm often writing those songs as well as the score, so I'm thinking about all of it. With Hans, the score wasn't being asked to do the job of several singles released ahead of a Hindi film. There was more room to stay with the picture and what a scene needed, without also thinking about how the music would help launch it. I was surprised by how much that difference changes what you're listening for.</p>

<p><strong>WION: Was Future Machine born out of a desire to explore a new sound, or to rethink how audiences experience music?</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shashwat</strong>: I My wife and I spent seven or eight months travelling through Europe and seeing festivals. We paid attention to what we loved and what stayed with us afterwards. I wanted to bring together the kinds of music and experiences we were drawn to, and build something for our audience here. I kept thinking about the person coming to the show. They're spending their money and giving us an evening of their life. How much can we give them in return? I wanted them to feel completely involved in what was happening. I felt we needed more infrastructure in India for that kind of experience. The venues and production were part of it, but so was the music. We are familiar with a singer on stage with a band. I wanted to explore what else we could do, with a catalogue imagined for the live experience. My audience is very young, so we reworked the music with them in mind. A lot of the stage and production infrastructure we needed wasn't readily available to us. I found people who believed in the idea and invested heavily in building it. They trusted something we were still trying to bring into the world. I'm very thankful to them.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br><strong>WION: What does Future Machine let you express that films or songs can't, and is it the start of a larger universe beyond cinema?</strong></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Shashwat</strong>: &nbsp;I think about someone looking back years later and remembering an evening we made for them. It might have been a very small part of their life, but something about being there stayed with them. That possibility means a lot to me. A recorded song is something you can return to tomorrow, or years from now. A live experience also belongs to the people who are there together. You can hear the same music again, but you can't quite repeat how it felt in that room, with that audience, at that point in your life. You're making something people carry away as a memory. It's a beautiful responsibility. Yes, I want to develop more shows and experiences outside cinema. I'm very drawn to the electronic dance movement in Europe and the way people come together to celebrate through it. I'd love to make more work that gives people that feeling and makes them want to experience it together again.</p>

Shashwat Sachdev is the man behind Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar, Aryan Khan's The Ba***ds of Bollywood, and Uri: The Surgical Strike. He has consistently made people groove to the addictive tunes he composes. In an exclusive chat with WION, Sachdev shares how Jaiye Sajana was almost scrapped.

If you have grooved to the music of Dhurandhar, still remember the beats of Uri: The Surgical Strike, or found yourself humming Ghafoor on loop, the credit goes to one man, Shashwat Sachdev. Fresh off his recent National Award win for Article 370, Sachdev has come a long way. In an exclusive interview with WION, Shashwat opens up about Dhurandhar, the film's phenomenal success and the tracks that went on to become chartbusters. He talks about how ‘’Jaiye Sajana'', sung by Satinder Sartaaj, came to life, and the story behind it is as fascinating as the song itself. He also talked about the viral phenomenon Ghafoor became. But beyond Bollywood, the composer is also very focused on developing his IP, ‘Future Machine’, which he feels will give people an experience beyond the shows and cinema. Read excerpts from his edited chat below: WION: Was there a song from Dhurandhar that you were initially unsure about but later became a fan favorite? Shashwat: Jaiye Sajana, from Dhurandhar: The Revenge. I'm very grateful they could hear possibilities in the song that helped me find my way with it. WION: Was there a track that you almost scrapped or overlooked that eventually became one of the album's biggest highlights. Shashwat: That would also be Jaiye Sajana. To hear it receive so much love now, knowing how close that was, makes me even more grateful to him. WION: Ghafoor became a standout viral hit. How did that happen, and what role has social media played in your journey? Shashwat: I remember watching Ghafoor take off around Diwali last year. With Ghafoor, I could really see the song travelling beyond us. WION: What surprised you most about Hans Zimmer’s creative process compared to Bollywood? Shashwat: I hadn't really noticed how much the release of a Hindi film is already in my head when I'm making its music. I was surprised by how much that difference changes what you're listening for.

<p>"The response to Alliance Season 1 validated what we always believed, that Indian audiences are ready for a smarter form of reality entertainment. The show didn't just find an audience; it created a community of viewers who were invested in every move, every alliance, and every shift in the game. The love that season 1 got inspired us to ensure we don’t make them wait one full year," said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video, India. “ We are bringing back Season 2 sooner, with higher stakes, sharper gameplay, more drama, and an evolved ‘System’ that will test the Allies like never before. Our continued partnership with Banijay Asia allows us to further push the boundaries of this format. Alliance has firmly established itself as a defining title in India's unscripted space, and Season 2 will only strengthen that position."</p><p><br>Deepak Dhar, Founder &amp; Group CEO, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India said, “Alliance is a format that asks a very simple question: when the rules keep changing, who can keep their head in the game? That tension between strategy and human behaviour is what made Season 1 so compelling, and it is also what gives us so much room to evolve the show. For Season 2, we’ve gone back to that core and found new ways to test the Allies, not just through the challenges, but through the choices they make and the relationships they build. We’re excited to continue this journey with Prime Video and we will surely push the game to a new level.”<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Mrinalini Jain, Group Chief Development Officer, Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India said, “Alliance has a very particular energy to it. The challenge with bringing back a format that audiences have embraced so quickly is to preserve what made it feel fresh in the first place, while finding new ways to surprise them. Season 2 gave us an opportunity to do exactly that, to reinvent the game without losing its core. We’re also delighted to have Kunal Kemmu return. He brought a distinct personality and sense of humour to the HQ in Season 1, and we’re excited to see him take audiences through what is an even more unpredictable game this time around."</p><p><br>Season 2 promises to be even more exciting than Season 1, with more twists than you can anticipate. Expect the unexpected. Then expect something even more unexpected.</p>

Alliance is returning with season 2. The competitive captive reality series that had the entire country hooked, debating strategies at dinner tables, and second-guessing every move the Allies made, is returning sooner than expected.
