This is the first time that the couple have shared a glimpse of their daughter. They have so far followed no-photos of their no-photos-of-their-child policy with the paps like other celebrity couples. Last month, videos of Deepika and Dua while travelling at the Mumbai airport were captured by onlookers and shared on social media. However, the leaked videos were soon taken down from various portals.

Last year, they revealed her name on Diwali and only shared a photo of the baby’s two little feet. “Dua Padukone Singh. 'Dua’ : meaning a Prayer. Because She is the Answer to our Prayers. Our hearts are filled with Love & Gratitude," read their heartfelt note.

Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot in 2018, and Dua was born on September 8, 2024.

Celebrities react

Needless to say, the photos left the internet buzzing, and fans of the two actors, as well as their friends from the film industry, shared the excitement and flooded the comments section. Ayushmaan Khurrana said, "Such a perfect mix," while Rhea Kapoor wrote, "So Cute." Karan Johar wrote, "OMG" while Sonam Kapoor and Ajun Kapoor dropped heart emojis. A fan wrote, "Hello Baby Dua," while another fan wrote, "Awww Dua, finally!"

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's next projects

Ranveer Singh will next be seen in Aditya Dhar's film Dhurandhar, which is set for a December release this year. The film is being touted as a spy thriller, and the anticipation around the film has been high ever since the film's trailer dropped in July earlier this year. Meanwhile, Deepika has two projects coming up. She is working with Shah Rukh Khan in King, which also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan. Deepika is also set to work with Atlee in a Telugu film opposite Allu Arjun.

The first photos of Dua Singh Padukone are here! Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone gave their fans a special treat on Diwali as they shared photos of their one-year-old for the first time on social media.

It’s a special Diwali for DeepVeer fans as Bollywood’s favourite couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh shared the first photos of their daughter Dua Padukone Singh. The couple shared a series of photos of their baby daughter on the occasion of Diwali, wishing their fans on the festival of lights. Deepika and Dua twinned in red and gold traditional outfits while dad Ranveer complemented them in a cream outfit. Stylist Shaleena Nathani, who styled the family's Diwali outfits, revealed on Instagram that Ranveer, Deepika and Dua were all dressed in Sabyasachi Mukherjee creations. In the photos, the couple looked lovingly at their one-year-old daughter, while the little one smiled at the camera. One photo had Dua sitting on mom Deepika's lap with folded hands, perhaps praying during the family Diwali pooja. See the adorable photos here:

U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly weighing the possibility of commuting the prison sentence of rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently serving a 50-month sentence for prostitution-related charges.

According to a report by TMZ, a senior White House official revealed that Trump is “vacillating” on the decision, despite some of his staff advising against it. However, the report added that the President is known to make his own calls, suggesting a decision could come as soon as this week.

Trump may commute Diddy’s 50-month sentence

Diddy, 55, was convicted earlier this month by Judge Arun Subramanian of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. He was found guilty of violating the Mann Act, a federal law prohibiting the transportation of individuals across state lines for prostitution, and sentenced to over four years in federal prison.

Also Read: Coffee Prince to Dear Hongrang: 7 K-dramas featuring Kim Jae Wook

The Bad Boy Records founder was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, but remains at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting transfer to a federal facility. As per reports, Donald Trump is considering Sean 'Diddy' commutation, and the decision might come this week.

Trump may commute Diddy’s 50-month sentence Diddy, 55, was convicted earlier this month by Judge Arun Subramanian of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. He was found guilty of violating the Mann Act, a federal law prohibiting the transportation of individuals across state lines for prostitution, and sentenced to over four years in federal prison. His lawyers have requested that he serve his time at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security prison in New Jersey. Reports indicate that Diddy’s legal team reached out to senior White House officials soon after the sentencing, initiating discussions about a possible commutation or pardon. Trump himself acknowledged earlier this month that he had been approached on the matter, saying, “I call him Puff Daddy, he has asked me for a pardon.” Also Read: Ocean’s 11 to Entrapment: 5 heist dramas that are similar to Louvre robbery Diddy’s appeal and Trump’s decision On Monday, Diddy’s legal team formally filed a notice of appeal in the Federal District Court in New York. The defense maintains that the Mann Act should not have applied in Diddy’s case and that they have a “strong basis to appeal.” Meanwhile, Trump’s potential intervention has become a major talking point.
Thirty years ago, on October 20, 1995, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) redefined Bollywood romance forever. Today, as the film completes three decades, it continues to play daily at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir and remains a global phenomenon.

But behind the fairytale romance and blockbuster success lies a story of what could have been, from Tom Cruise nearly being cast as Raj to Shah Rukh Khan rejecting the film not once, but four times.

Tom Cruise as Raj Malhotra?

Before Shah Rukh Khan’s charming Raj stole hearts across generations, Aditya Chopra had envisioned a different kind of love story, one that crossed continents. According to film critic and author Anupama Chopra’s book Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: The Making of a Blockbuster, Aditya initially imagined an Indo-American love story between an American man and an Indian woman.

Also Read: Not proud but humbled: Kajol on Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge completing 30 years

His dream casting?

At the time, Aditya wanted to appeal to a global audience and believed that casting Cruise would lend an international flavour to the project. However, his father, the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, intervened. He suggested that Aditya rework the story and make it about two Non-Resident Indians (NRIs).

Kajol, who played Simran, later confirmed this trivia. “He did want Tom Cruise in the film initially. Every director has a wishlist of actors. But finally, you come back to earth and say, ‘Let’s take someone from our country,’” she said in an interview.

Also Read: Priyanka Chopra posts glimpse of daughter Malti’s Diwali celebration

Why Shah Rukh Khan rejected DDLJ four times

It’s almost unthinkable now, but Shah Rukh Khan initially rejected DDLJ four times. In the early ’90s, SRK had built a reputation playing dark, intense characters in films like Darr, Baazigar, and Anjaam. Romance didn’t interest him; in fact, he found the idea of playing a “chocolate boy” role rather unappealing.

In Anupama Chopra’s book, she mentions that SRK felt romantic films were “too soft” and not challenging enough. He told Aditya that he preferred action or thriller roles instead. But Aditya was persistent. He met Shah Rukh multiple times over several weeks, assuring him that DDLJ wasn’t just another love story; it was a film that would redefine romance for a generation.

Finally, SRK agreed, though reluctantly. In a later interview, the superstar admitted, “I thought the role was too girlish. I didn’t want to be known as a romantic hero. But Adi believed in me, and I’m glad I trusted him.”

Also Read: DDLJ: Bollywood's favourite romance still going strong after 30 years

How SRK became the ‘King of Romance’

When DDLJ was released, it not only changed the course of Shah Rukh Khan’s career but also set a new benchmark for romantic cinema. The film earned over ₹100 crore at the box office, a massive figure for the 1990s, and went on to win several awards, including a National Award for Best Popular Film.

It turned SRK into the ‘King of Romance’, marking his image as the man who could make every line sound poetic, from “Bade bade deshon mein aisi chhoti chhoti baatein hoti rehti hain” to the unforgettable “Palat!”

Also Read: When Amitabh Bachchan met his doppelganger: Sunil Grover’s KBC 17 act goes viral

Unforgettable legacy of DDLJ

From its soulful music to its iconic dialogues, DDLJ has transcended generations. It continues to run at Mumbai’s Maratha Mandir, holding the record for India’s longest-running film. The movie’s influence extends beyond India; it was one of the first Bollywood films to be screened in Poland, and a bronze statue of SRK and Kajol as Raj and Simran now stands at London’s Leicester Square.

The film also spawned several memorable moments, Kajol nearly falling off the train in the climax, the improvised “Palat” scene that became an instant classic, and SRK’s impromptu addition of an action element to the finale.

DDLJ turns 30 years old today, but remains close to every Bollywood fan. But do you know, SRK was not the first choice for the role of Raj Malhotra?
