The makers of the much-awaitedToxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Upsheld their pre-release event on August 22 (Saturday) at Malla Reddy University in Dulapally, Hyderabad, which soon turned chaotic after a heavy soundbox and speaker setup collapsed when the crowd climbed onto it. The incident injured a few students and forced the actor to temporarily halt the event to prevent further injuries. Several videos of the incident later surfaced on social media.
The pre-release event of Geetu Mohandas' directorial Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was held at Malla Reddy Group of Institutions in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on August 22 (Saturday). The film's cast, including Yash and other members, was in attendance. A large crowd soon gathered to catch a glimpse of Kannada star Yash.
According to a report by police officials, the event turned chaotic when some fans climbed onto a speaker stand, while another group performed stunts on the structure. The stand quickly lost balance and collapsed on the crowd below, injuring several viewers. Police immediately shifted the injured students to a hospital for treatment and dispersed the crowd. It is reported that two students were injured, while a girl reportedly fell unconscious.
Following the unfortunate incident, Yash halted the event and asked the organisers to help those who were injured. The actor was on stage speaking when the speaker stood, collapsed and paused mid-speech and asked, “Are they okay?" Please check.”
The Geetu Mohandas directorial Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups received an A certificate from the CBFC without any cuts. Set in Goa during the transition from the early 1940s to the 1970s, it stars an ensemble cast including Yash, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara and Rukmini Vasanth.
Yash’s action drama is being filmed simultaneously in English and Kannada, with planned dubs in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and other languages for a global audience. The trailer for the upcoming film was released on August 8, revealing the actor's dual roles.
The multilingual action thriller was originally scheduled for release on March 19, 2026. It was later moved to June 4 and is now set for a global release on August 26, 2026.
