It's the season of love and there's no better way to celebrate than reuniting the cast of the most popular rom-com of the 1990s for a magazine cover. The entertainment weekly brought actors Julia Roberts, Dermot Mulroney, Rupert Everett, and Cameron Diaz to pose for their February cover together. For those who grew up in the 1990s, would know that these actors featured in one of the most loved rom-coms of our times - 'My Best Friend's Wedding'.
The actors reunited for the magazine 22 years after the film's release and spoke about the film, memorable moments that they shared while filming the film and a lot more.
Photos of the shoot, and behind the scene fun were shared by the actors on their Instagram pages on Thursday. Cameron Diaz posted a selfie with her former co-stars and wrote, "Hi.. so this happened.. ".
Julia Roberts, who catapulted to the big league post the success of the film, wrote, "So fun to spend the day with some of my Best Friends"
Actor Rupert Everett too shared multiple photos from the shoot and recalled in one post that how he was unsure of his role when it was offered to him first. "When I got the part [in My Best Friend’s Wedding] it was literally two lines in the script. I thought it was kind of a career-icide move at first. [Director] PJ Hogan made me test three or four times for the film. I kept saying, “PJ, what can I do? There’s nothing I can do. There’s only two lines. How many times can I say them?” And so I came in with quite a bad attitude in a way, and what was so extraordinary about it from my point of view is that the thing you think is really going to be the end - I was gay and it was a tiny little gay role and what was the point I thought - was a complete changing point for me," wrote Everett in one of the posts.
"Say a little prayer and.... bingo! Thrilled to reunite with the My Best Friend’s Wedding cast in LA last month for the brilliant new cover of Entertainment Weekly. It’s out on US newsstands Friday February 8," Everett wrote in another post.
