Kate Middleton has offered her apologies for skipping rehearsal for Trooping the Colour as the British royal continues to receive her cancer treatment. On May 30th, Kensignton Palace announced that Kate, who is the Colonel of The Irish Guards, would not be attending the Colonel's Review, which takes place before Trooping of Colour, King Charles' birthday parade.

Being anhonorary Colonel, Kate was supposed to take the salute ahead of thebig parade in London.

While Kate maynot have attended the reviewing ceremony,she made sure to send her message to the regiment, addressing their hard work.

The Irish Guard shared Catherine's letter on their official X handle on Saturday (June 8).

In the letter, the Princess of Wales wrote, ''I wanted to write and let you know how proud I am of the Regiment ahead of Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour.''

"I appreciate everyone trooping this year has been practicing for months, and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immactulate," Princess Kate added in the letter.

She continued, "Being your colonel remains a great honor and I am very sorry that I'm unable to take the salute at this year's Colonel's Review. Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon. Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved."

In place of Kate, Lieutenant General James Bucknall took the salute at the June 8 event.

Acknowledging Kate's letter, the Irish Guards thanked her in their post shared on X, writing, “The Irish Guards were deeply touched to receive a letter from our Colonel, Her Royal Highness, The Princess of Wales this morning. We continue to wish Her Royal Highness well in her recovery and send Her our very best wishes. Quis Separabit @KensingtonRoyal @ArmyInLondon.”

Kate Middleton has been staying away from the limelight due to her cancer treatment.

Amidst this, areport emerged online revealing that Kate will not continue her royal duties for the rest of the year.

Later, it was reported by few media outlets that shemay never return to her royal duties like she used to.

A source told US Weekly that she might not return to the role that people have seen her in over the years.

A source told the US media outlet that Kate’s team is “reevaluating what she’s going to be able to take on when she comes back,” noting, “She may never come back in the role that people saw her in before.”
