The lone Indian entry at this year’s International Emmy Awards, The Night Managerlost out on the big prize to Les Gouttes de Dieu (Drops of God). The web series features Aditya Roy Kapur, Anil Kapoor and Sobhita Dhulipala in leading roles. The show was nominated in the Best Drama Series category.
The announcement of the winner was made on Monday night (Nov 25) at the International Emmy Awards in New York City.
The Night Manager team attended the ceremony with director Sandeep Modi and actor Aditya Roy Kapur leading the Indian entourage. The Night Manager was the only entry from India across 14 categories that were announced by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS).

In the Best Drama Series category, the other competitors were The Newsreader – Season 2 (Australia) and Iosi, El Espía Arrepentido [Yosi, the Regretful Spy] – Season 2 (Argentina).
The winner, Drops of God, is a French-American-Japanese television series directed by Oded Ruskin. It stars Tomohisa Yamashita and Fleur Geffrier. The series centres on the competition for the inheritance of an estate and its vast wine collection between an heiress and a star student of a well-known oenologist who died. Drops of God premiered in April 2023 on Apple TV+.
So well-received, the web show was renewed for a second season this year.
As for The Night Manager, the Indian version of the hit show received massive love on OTT.
The show features Anil Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome, Saswata Chatterjee and Ravi Behl, apart from Aditya. The series is directed by Sandeep and Priyanka Ghose. It is adapted from both -- the John le Carre’s novel and the British show, starring Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman.
