Kevin Spacey gives first TV interview since sex abuse trial: I'm living an authentic life now

Things look bright for ace actor Kevin Spacey who was earlier shunned by the entertainment industry after sexual assault allegations against him surfaced in 2017. Although he denied any wrongdoing citing all sex was “consensual” after coming out as gay, he was dropped by all shows and features he was a part of including Netflix’s hit show House of Cards that had him leading it.
Kevin has since made a comeback in the public eye as not a single allegation stood in the court.

Marking his first television appearance in years since the debacle, Kevin Spacey spoke to Chris Cuomo in an interview and said that he was “doing much better” and was “much happier today”. He said, “So much happier today, living a more authentic and open life. Now, I want to prove that I’m a man of great character. I look forward to being able to prove to people that that I am the merit of who I am as a human being.”
Ever since misconduct and sexual allegations were levelled against him, Kevin Spacey had stayed away from media and public. It was in 2017 that several men accused the actor of sexual misconduct. In 2022, a New York jury deemed he was not liable in the 1980s assault of actor Anthony Rapp, and last summer, he was acquitted of nine charges brought against him in London. Several other lawsuits have also been dropped.
However, this month, 10 more men came forward with alleged abuse in Spacey Unmasked, a two-part Channel 4 documentary directed by Katherine Haywood. This will open a new trial against him but Kevin is adamant that these are “lies”. He took to social media to say, “I will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network’s one-sided ‘documentary’ about me in their desperate attempt for ratings.”

Speaking to Cuomo, Kevin said in the interview, “I am not going to be accountable for things I didn’t do or that were exaggerated or greatly changed.”
Hollywood stars support Kevin's comeback
Meanwhile, Hollywood stars like Liam Neeson, Stephen Fry and Sharon Stone have extended their support for the actor and said that the “industry needs him” and that this should all be over.
On their support for him, Kevin told Cuomo, Their support “means a tremendous amount. It’s very gratifying. I just want to go back to work. I would much rather play you in a movie than to be sitting here answering questions on your show.”
