Few names are as well-known in the animation industry as Miyazaki. One of the finest animators of all time, Hayao Miyazaki has been with Studio Ghibli for many years, and their career there is far from ended.

Both his son Goro Miyazaki's and the man's works continue his legacy. After The Boy and the Heron's historic Academy Award triumph, Goro Miyazaki has recently taken up publicity for his father, and he is now hinting at what Hayao Miyazaki may be working on next.

Ahead of the inauguration of an exhibition, Goro Miyazaki recently discussed his father's legacy with Japanese media. The Boy and the Heron will soon have a special display at the Ghibli Museum. In his reflections on the latest film, Goro Miyazaki discussed his father's future in the anime industry and hinted at what we may anticipate from the legend's next venture.

"I'd tell him, 'Make some for future projects. Only making them for your past stuff is boring.' He's making some now though," Goro said.

"I don't know if it'll actually be for his next film, but it's looking like an action-adventure-type movie, nostalgic and reminiscent of the old days," he added.

It's obvious that Goro Miyazaki has high hopes for his father's upcoming movie, and the tone is in line with what we would anticipate from the filmmaker. As a skilled storyteller, Hayao Miyazaki frequently tinkers with nostalgia. His creations always have a nostalgic air to them, yet they still feel very contemporary.

Fans are unsure of what to anticipate from Hayao Miyazaki's next film, but it looks like this tendency will continue with it. As always, Studio Ghibli is keeping details of the project under wraps. Presently, Miyazaki is unwinding after dedicating seven years to completing The Boy and the Heron.
