The 78th Primetime Emmys are taking place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles. The veteran Jean Smart won her 8th Emmy award, while Kate O'Flynn was the first winner of the night. Matthew Rhys created history on Emmy stage with double win.
Television’s biggest night is here. The 78th Primetime Emmy Awardstook place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday night where horror-comedy series Widow’s Bay and hospital drama The Pitt won big.
The Emmy Awards night began with comedy awards as actresses Kate O’Flynn and Jean Smart took home Best Supporting actress and Best Actress Emmys. Jean Smart created history as she earned her eighth Emmy on Monday night.
Apple TV's Widow's Bay, which stars Matthew Rhys as the leader of an isolated New England island that appears to be haunted, emerged as one of the most talked-about debut series of the year. Rhys created history on Emmy stage by becoming the first actor to win two Best Actor awards on the same night.
His show Widow's Bay scooped up six awards on Monday.
Meanwhile Noah Wylie took home the Best Actor in Drama series award for the second consecutive year for the medical drama The Pitt which also won the Best Drama series.
