Priyanka Chopra joins other celebs in condemning the terror attack in Reasi: 'Devastated'

Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas has condemned the recent terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori temple to Katra, in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Priyanka took to Instagram stories on Tuesday morning to condemn the attack, questioning the alarming rise of hatred worldwide. 

"Devastated. his brutal attack on innocent pilgrims is unfathomable. Why target civilians and children?! It's difficult to grasp the extent of hatred prevailing in the world," Chopra wrote.

Several other celebrities have condemned the horrific attack on social media, including actors like Bhumi Pednekar, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Tamannah Bhatia, Varun Dhawan, Kangana Ranaut and Anupam Kher among others. 

Bhumi Pednekar shared a post on Instagram Stories, stating, "Prayers for those who lost their loved ones in the Reasi attacks today. The loss of innocent lives in this act of terror is deeply saddening. Om Shanti."

Tamannaah Bhatia also expressed grief on social media and said, "Distressed and saddened by the events in Reasi. Taking innocent lives can never be justified. Sending my prayers."

Priyanka's cousin Parineeti Chopra took to X and wrote, "Heartbroken to see the images coming in from #Reasi. Praying for the family of the deceased; may God give them strength, and may the injured recover as soon as possible."

Actor Rashmika Mandanna expressed her sympathy and wrote, "My heart goes out to all the victims affected by the Reasi attack. Horrified. Innocent lives lost. My heartfelt condolences to all the victims and their families. Praying for the speedy recovery of all those injured."

Richa Chadha expressed her sentiments, "Only cowards can attack pilgrims peacefully headed to a place of worship. May justice be served. Heartbreaking news at the start of this week."

Many had earlier questioned Bollywood's silence on the Reasi attack and called out the double standards of the film celebrities as several of them had condemned the Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp in Rafah, Gaza but failed to react to the Reasi terror attack in J&K.

A bus carrying pilgrims to a temple fell into a gorge following a major terror attack, resulting in nine fatalities on Sunday. 

The terrorists opened fire on a bus ferrying pilgrims from the Shiv Khori cave shrine in Reasi district. The incident occurred near the Teryath village at 6.10 pm.
