Markets end in green; Sensex up by 85 points, Nifty at 11,691

Meanwhile, the rupee gained 11 paise to 69.80 against the US dollar in opening trade. 

After ending in red on the previous close on Monday, the domestic stock market on Tuesday closed in green. While BSE Sensex went up 85.55 points to close at 39,046.34, NSE Nifty climbed 19.35 points at 11,691.50.

Sensex rebounded more than 150 points in the opening trade today morning and traded marginally higher at 38,969.76 at around 9.45 am. Nifty was trading slightly up at 11,678.25.

On Monday, BSE Sensex plunged 491.28 points to end at 38,960.79. Nifty, on the other hand, dropped 151.15 points to close at 11,672.15.

The stock market indices opened lower in early trade on Monday morning and continued to trade low this afternoon amid rising global crude oil prices and international trade tensions.

Meanwhile, the rupee gained 11 paise to 69.80 against the US dollar in opening trade.
