Apple is facing anunparalleled stock shortage.According to several reports, the stocks of the much anticipatediPhone X will be "catastrophically low"this year.
Enough stock for iPhone X will be available in January and February next year, technology website TechRadar said.
Citing a source, TechRadar has said that there will be a "chronic lack" of iPhone X handsets available worldwide after launch will be "catastrophic".
"Our advice would be to pre-order as soon as possible if they want the new iPhone. It is highly likely to sell out very quickly and we know that some retailers and networks have only been assigned a tiny number of the handsets. A tiny number. And maybe it'll be into January or February before there is enough stock to go round," added the source on TechRadar.
KGI Securities analystMing Chi-Kuo claimed that the productions have been held up until the first quarter of 2018 because of specific iPhone components. Financial newspaper The Nikkei said that Apple cut down iPhone X production by 50 per cent in 2017 from40 million to 20 million.
About 2-3 million handsets are expected to be released globally on November 3, launch day of iPhone X.
Some limited stock will be available in select stores for walk-ins. Whereas the phone will be majorlydiverted for reserved booking.
Moreover, the demand for the other two new launches, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus has been sluggish.
Roger's CEO Joe Natale said recently there was an "anaemic appetite" for them from customers on its network.
