Mercedes-AMG has raised the bar in the high-performance sports car segment with the introduction of its latest marvel, the GT 63 PRO 4MATIC+. Unveiled at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, this new addition to the AMG GT family is set to captivate automotive enthusiasts with its unparalleled blend of power, precision, and track-ready capabilities.
At the heart of the GT 63 PRO lies a formidable 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine, now tuned to deliver an impressive 612 horsepower - a 27 hp increase over its predecessor. The engine's prowess is further amplified by a torque boost of 50 Nm, bringing the total to a staggering 850 Nm. This enhancement in power output is the result of meticulous adjustments to the engine control unit, showcasing AMG's commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance.
The GT 63 PRO's performance figures speak volumes about its capabilities. It accelerates from 0 to 200 km/h in a mere 10.9 seconds, shaving off half a second from the standard GT 63's time. With a top speed of 317 km/h, this sports car is equally at home on the autobahn as it is on the race track.
Aerodynamics play a crucial role in the GT 63 PRO's enhanced performance. The car features a redesigned front apron with additional carbon fibre air deflectors and enlarged side air intakes. These modifications, along with an active aerodynamic profile in the underbody and a fixed rear wing, result in a significant reduction in front axle lift and increased downforce on the rear axle. The overall effect is a more precise steering response and improved stability at high speeds.
To ensure optimal performance under demanding conditions, Mercedes-AMG has significantly upgraded the cooling system. The car now boasts additional radiators in the front wheel arches and actively cooled differentials. This enhanced cooling capacity allows the GT 63 PRO to maintain peak performance even under the most extreme driving conditions.
The GT 63 PRO comes standard with a state-of-the-art AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system. Featuring the largest standard ceramic brake discs ever offered by Mercedes-AMG, this system provides exceptional stopping power and fade resistance. The brake discs' titanium backing plates contribute to weight reduction, particularly in unsprung masses, further enhancing the car's agility and responsiveness.
In keeping with its track-focused nature, the GT 63 PRO is fitted with lightweight 21-inch AMG Performance forged wheels. These are paired with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R Cup tires, providing maximum grip and cornering stability for spirited driving and track use.
The interior of the GT 63 PRO is a testament to AMG's racing heritage. Standard equipment includes AMG Performance seats offering superior lateral support, and an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in a combination of Nappa leather and MICROCUT microfiber. These features ensure that the driver feels connected to the car and in control at all times.
Despite its hardcore performance orientation, the GT 63 PRO doesn't compromise on practicality. It offers improved everyday usability compared to its predecessors, with a spacious interior and good all-round visibility. The car is also available with an optional 2+2 seating configuration, adding a touch of versatility to this high-performance machine.
Advanced technologies such as the AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL suspension with active roll stabilisation and rear-axle steering come as standard, further enhancing the car's dynamic capabilities. The fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system ensures optimal traction in all driving conditions.
