The political advisor to the Hamas chief, Taher Al-Nono, confirmed that multiple meetings occurred between Hamas leaders and US hostage affairs envoy Adam Boehler, according to news agency Reuters.
Nono said that the talks took place in the Qatari capital over the past week and were centred around the release of an American-Israeli dual national, who was held hostage by the Palestinian militant group in war-torn Gaza.

A similar incident was reported in August last year, when a young man wearing headphones was trapped between the railway tracks and run over by a cargo train, which took his life. Not just in Peru, but these time-saving patterns are seen in passengers in many countries across the globe.

At a briefing at the scene of the shooting at the Piper Arms pub, Paul Macintyre, superintendent of Toronto Police's organised crime unit, said six of the injured sustained gunshot wounds, but none were life-threatening.
Macintyre said surveillance video in the pub had captured the moment when the suspects, wearing black balaclavas to conceal their identities, fired their guns at the patrons.
The victims in the Friday (March 7) night shooting were aged between their 20s to mid-50s, police said.
