US Election 2024: Elon Musk to spend election evening with Trump in Palm Beach

Donald Trump and Elon Musk

Elon Musk, one of the biggest backers of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, will spend Election Night (Nov 5) with the former United States president, according to a New York Times report.

Musk will be among a small group that will be watching the election results with Trump as they unfold on Election Night. The NYT report cites three people who said that Musk will be at Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida for the evening festivities.

Trump is expected to host several parties, including a dinner at Mar-a-Lago for a small group of donors. During Election Night, the Republican will reportedly remain within a smaller gathering. The Republicans will also address a larger group at the Palm Beach Convention Center later, where other donors will be present, as per the NYT report.

In an X post, Musk shared a picture after voting. He wrote in the caption, “Just voted in Cameron County, Texas, home of Starbase!”

Musk has spent at least $119 million on a super PAC supporting the Republican and will join his evening festivities as a Trump superfan. He has also hosted events in the name of Trump in the US state of Pennsylvania. Musk was scheduled to host a pro-Trump town-hall-style event on Tuesday at noon, however, it did not start on time.

The Tesla CEO and Republican presidential candidate are known to speak to each other several times a week. Musk’s ownership of the popular social media platform X has been beneficial to the Trump campaign. This has left Democrats concerned that he may promote misinformation during the elections.

On the other hand, Vice President Kamala Harris is to attend a family dinner on Election Day. She will be at a watch party at her alma mater Howard University in Washington DC. She graduated from the historically Black university with a degree in political science and economics in 1968.

“I will be at my alma mater at Howard University,” Harris said in an interview with Pittsburgh's KDKA radio, revealing her plans for the day. “Before that, I have a tradition of having dinner with my family, and so we will do that. I have a lot of my family staying with us."
