The image of Loch Ness, a deep freshwater lake in the Scottish Highlands, is circulating on social media with at least three mysterious wave sightings, which some claim are Nessies, the legendary serpent-like creature which many have claimed to have seen in the region. <p>For three of India’s biggest gaming and content creators, racing against four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen at Silverstone was an experience far removed from the virtual world. For the Indian trio, however, sharing the track with Verstappen proved to be the biggest takeaway.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Techno Gamerz, who finished 39th in Kart No. 72, said moving from gaming to real-life racing was a completely different experience. “It was completely different. In gaming, you’re used to making quick decisions and staying calm when there’s a lot happening on screen, but here everything was real – the speed, the traffic, the contact and the physical side of driving the kart.</p><p>“Once the race started, that competitive instinct kicked in. I was thinking about how to survive the traffic, where I could find space and how I could move forward. And then you remember that Max Verstappen is coming through the field behind you! “Honestly, it was an experience I couldn’t even have imagined. This wasn’t even a dream of mine, because I never thought I’d get an opportunity like this.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>For Techno, the most memorable moment came after Verstappen caught him. “Definitely getting to race with Max,” he said. “After he caught me, there was a yellow flag and I ended up driving with him for more than half a lap. Max’s kart was literally just ahead of mine and I was thinking, ‘This is crazy.’ “I feel like I got a little taste of what the other drivers must feel when Max overtakes them! Of course, all three of us from India finishing inside the top 40 made us really proud, but actually sharing a track with Max is something I’ll remember for a very long time.”</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Shreeman Legend, the highest-finishing Indian in 32nd place, knew Verstappen would eventually come hunting through the field.</p><p>“The first priority was to stay out of trouble. With 100 karts around you, there was so much happening that you couldn’t spend the whole race looking behind and worrying about where Max was,” Shreeman said.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>“I actually kept checking behind me and for a while I couldn’t see him, so I thought maybe we were safe! My approach was to stay on the road, avoid the chaos and make as few mistakes as possible. “But Max was finding gaps and using parts of the circuit that the more experienced karters understood much better than we did. By the time I realised where he was, he had already found his way through.”</p>

The man's dog sniffs the crab and then jumps back in surprise as the crustacean swings its blade-wielding claw around. "Dude, are you kidding me right now?" he says in surprise. <p>The operation will be led by the ship's owner under Indonesian law, with support from the country's rescue agency, navy and maritime police, said I Putu Sudayana, head of the Banjarmasin rescue agency. Once the ship has been turned upright, rescue and evacuation operations will begin, Putu said. "As long as the ship is still at the seabed, the dive team ​dared only to remain ​outside the ship," he said.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Authorities deployed eight ships and two helicopters on Friday for air and surface searches. However, strong winds, currents and waves continued to make the operation difficult, Putu said. Two representatives of victims' families were also allowed to join Friday's search so they could see the challenging weather conditions at the site and better understand the technical difficulties faced by rescuers. <p>US President Donald Trump on Thursday (Sep 17) said “major progress” had been made towards establishing a US Army base in Poland. This comes as Warsaw and Washington continue talks on expanding the American military presence in the NATO ally.</p><p>“Thanks to the bold leadership of my friend, Karol Nawrocki, President of Poland, major progress is being made toward establishing a U.S. Army base in Poland,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.</p><p>“If this happens, the location will be announced very soon. This will be a historic step for our Great U.S./Polish Alliance,” he added.</p>

<p>Polish President Karol Nawrocki welcomed the development, saying Warsaw was ready to continue efforts to strengthen defence cooperation with the United States. “We are ready to continue our efforts to strengthen our defense cooperation: seriously, responsibly, and always together,” Nawrocki said on X. In September, Polish Defence Ministry officials met a US delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of War William Cappelletti to discuss the conditions for an enhanced American military presence. The two sides agreed on a timetable for further consultations and working groups.</p><p>In June, Polish Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said the Pentagon had responded positively to Warsaw's proposal for a permanent US military presence. <p>On his birthday, PM Modi received wishes from several national and world leaders, including Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Russian President Vladimir Putin.</p><h2><strong>SEMICON India 2026</strong></h2><p>Speaking at the event, PM Modi said that India’s semiconductor ecosystem is expanding rapidly, opening new opportunities for innovation, investment and growth. The three-day event, being held from September 17 to 19, brings together semiconductor and electronics companies, investors, policymakers, researchers and other industry stakeholders. This year’s theme is “Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem.” He also linked the semiconductor push with India’s long-standing tradition of manufacturing and craftsmanship, noting that Thursday also marked Vishwakarma Jayanti.</p><p>“Today is also the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. I extend my best wishes to all citizens on Vishwakarma Jayanti. In our tradition, Lord Vishwakarma is considered a symbol of the power of creation and construction,” PM Modi said.</p><p>“And look at the coincidence, the PM Vishwakarma scheme is also being launched today. On one hand, we have our centuries old tradition of construction and on the other, the technology and vision of the 21st century. This is also the inspiration behind our vision of a self reliant and developed India,” he added.</p><h2><strong>Modi highlights India’s growth</strong></h2><p>The prime minister highlighted recent developments across India’s economy, infrastructure and technology to illustrate the country’s accelerating growth. Referring to the last two weeks, PM Modi said the developments during this period offered a glimpse into both the direction India was taking and the pace of its progress.</p><p>He cited the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, where emerging technologies such as agentic AI, tokenisation and quantum technology were among the key areas of discussion. PM Modi also pointed to the expansion of India’s dedicated freight corridor network. He said the completion of nearly 3,000 kilometres of the corridors would help speed up the movement of goods, enhance logistics efficiency and provide further support to the manufacturing sector.</p>
