A man in the US state of Pennsylvania, who credits his alligator for emotional support, has said that the alligator has gone missing. A report by the news agency Associated Press on Thursday (May 2) said that the alligator named Wally went missing on the coast of Georgia.Joie Henney (Wally'sowner) said thatWally vanished while accompanying him on an April vacation in Brunswick.
He suspects someone stole the alligatorfrom thefenced,outdoor enclosure where Wally spent the night on April 21.Henney said he obtained Wally in 2015 afterthe alligator was rescuedin Florida atthe age of14 months.
The man told local media in 2019 that the alligatorhelped alleviate depression following the deaths of several close friends. He also said that a doctortreating his depression had endorsedWally’sstatus as his emotional support animal. The man also stressed that Wally never tried to bite anyone.
Taking to social media, Henney said that pranksters left Wally outside the house of a person who called authorities,resulting in his alligator being trapped and released into the wild.Citing officials, the Associated Press report saidthat noone filedpolice reports about the missing alligator in Brunswick and surrounding Glynn County.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources confirmed that someone in Brunswick reported a nuisance alligator on April 21, anda licensedtrapper was dispatchedto capture it.The department saidthatthe reptile was“released in a remotelocation,”but stressed that itdoesn’tknow if it was Wally.
“We need all the help we can get to bring my baby back.Please, we need your help,"a tearful Henney said in a video posted on TikTok.
