Watch: Driver forgets driving rules in the wild, hits lion with his SUV at national park

Screengrab of the viral video of SUV hitting the lioness.

In a shocking and rather unexpected moment, an impatient driver was captured hitting a lion with his SUV so that the road can be cleared and he could cross it.

In the footage, several cars were seen halted on a highway which was in South Africa's Kruger National Park as three lionesses were present mid-way on August 9.

Most of these drivers stopped their cars and looked at the big cats roaming around, but one motorist appeared impatient, and tried to make his way by hitting on the lioness.

The driver, who was inside a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV and had a caravan in tow, moved around one vehicle and eventually hit a lioness in the back while rushing to get through it.

Kruger National Park fines driver for hitting lion

The incident's video was posted on social media platforms, after which the national park authorities responded to the issue.

Kruger National Park spokesperson Ike Phaahla said, "We dealt with him by tracing the number plate. All we know is that he was trying to make a way at the sighting when he bumped the animal."
