South Korean pistol shooter Kim Yeji, known for her impressive skills and captivating presence during the Paris Olympics, is stepping into the acting world with her first role as an assassin.
Her shooting videos became a sensation online, catching the attention of prominent figures, including Elon Musk, who wrote, "She should be cast in an action movie. No acting required!" on his social media platform X.
At the 2024 Summer Olympics, the 32-year-old athlete secured a silver medal in the women's 10m air pistol event. She will now appear in “Crush,” a spinoff short series from the global film project “Asia,” a spokesperson for Asia Lab, a Seoul-based entertainment firm disclosed this to the news agency AFP.
Kim Yeji will take on the role of an assassin in "Crush," starring alongside Indian actor and influencer Anushka Sen.
Anushka Sen shared the exciting news of their collaboration on her Instagram account. In a video she posted, viewers can see her struggling to handle a pistol until Kim steps in to help her with her stance. The video showcases their dynamic as they prepare for their roles, and Anushka added a caption expressing her enthusiasm for working with Kim, highlighting her status as an Olympic silver medalist and one of the most popular shooters in the world.

She wrote, “Thrilled to work with [Kim], the Olympics silver medalist and the world's most popular Korean shooter,” Sen stated, using hashtags like #Crush and #Moviecrush to highlight their joint project.
Directed by Lee Jung-sub, “Asia” explores the experiences of individuals facing racial prejudice and features a diverse cast from various Asian nations, including Thai actor Pakorn Chatborrirak, Indian actress Anushka Sen, Malaysian actor Sean Lee, singer Daiyan Trisha, and Korean actor Jang Yoon-young. The film is currently in production.
