Simone Biles

United States gymnast and Olympics gold medallist Simone Biles made her country proud once again at the Paris Olympics. The 27-year-old won three gold medals and a silver at the games, totalling 11 Olympic medals in her entire career to date.

But besides gymnastics, Simone also indulged in a bit of partying in Paris to celebrate her success. After the closing ceremony, she went to a nightclub with friends and ordered a bottle of wine. She was in utter disbeliefwhen the club quoted the price of the bottle - $26,000.

Talking about the incident on TikTok, filming herself doing her makeup, Simone said, "After [closing ceremonies] we went out. You guys, this club tried to charge me $26,000 for a bottle of champagne. Like are you insane?"

Simone was in shock at hearing the price of the champagne and "obviously didn't buy it". She said, "But why would you even try to play me like that? That’s wild."

Later in the video, she talks about how sporting accolades is probably the reason people try to take advantage. "I don’t know sometimes, the attention, I’d rather not have it," Simone said.

"I rather just be as normal as possible, I don’t know."

People in the comments section joined Simone to show disbelief about the price of the champagne bottle. No matter how swanky and luxe the Paris club might have been, nothing can justify a price tag of $26,000 for a bottle of champagne.

"$26k is crazy omg," one user wrote. Another added, "$26k??? That’s insane!"
