German athlete Alica Schmidt, dubbed by a section of the media as the most beautiful and sexiest athlete, is grabbing the limelight once again for her vacation pictures.

The 25-year-old has gone into relaxation mode kickstarting her vacation in Palermo, Italy. Sharing pictures on Instagram, Schmidt told her fans that she is off for four weeks.

"Off-season has started, get ready for 4 weeks of vacation content 🤌🏻🏝️#vacation #offseason," Schmidt wrote.

Schmidt debuted at the Olympics in Paris this year. She was part of the German athletics team which finished in 7th place in the women’s 4x400m relay. Even though her squad failed to qualify for the final, the entire experience left Schmidt feeling inspired.

After returning from Paris, she talked about the "emotional rollercoaster" in an Insta post.

"The Olympics are not just about winning medals. It‘s about being alongside inspiring athletes while competing at the highest level," Schmidt wrote on Instagram. "Showing ambition, celebrating diversity and people no matter who they are and where they are from."

"The past weeks were an emotional rollercoaster and I was able to learn a lot. As an athlete I am still not where I want to be and maybe I will never be," she wrote.

Fame and controversy

In 2017, the Australian magazine Busted Coverage gave her the title of "world's sexiest athlete". Besides being a sportsperson, Alica is also a successful model and a social media influencer. She has over 5.6 million followers on Instagram.

For the Olympics, she also found herself surrounded by controversy after her teammate Luna Bulmahn's sprinter boyfriend, Jean-Paul Bredau, questioned her selection, saying that she was faster than her on paper.

However, the biggest storm brewed as reports emerged that she "hooked up with everyone at the games." But, it wasn't true.

An Insta meme page originally posted the story. The statement was reportedly originally made by Alpine ski racer Laurenne Ross in 2018, as per the publication Benchwarmers. In an interview with Cosmopolitan, some athletes talked about the prevalence of sex in the Olympic Village. To this, Laurenne said, “I hooked up with everyone.”
